Dr. Daniel E. Buffington is a native of the Clearwater/Tampa Bay area and did his undergraduate studies in Biology and Biochemistry at the University of South Florida. He then received his Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (PharmD) from Mercer University. Following his PharmD degree, he completed a general residency training program and clinical pharmacology research fellowship at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. He also completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Mercer University.
He developed Clinical Pharmacology Services in 1990. The practice was designed to be an advanced practice model focused on delivering drug information support services and clinical trials to physicians and patients in the Tampa Bay area. The practice grew quickly as the community became more aware of the unique value of these services. The practice has grown into a nationally recognized multi-specialty group practice that is helping to provide a foundation for similar practices across the country.
Serving as the practice director and is actively involved with each of the practice's specialty areas. In addition to the general practice activities, he also serves as clinical faculty for the University of South Florida College of Medicine, College of Nursing, University of Florida College of Pharmacy, Nova Southeastern College of Pharmacy and the Florida A&M College of Pharmacy.
